A Statement From Our CEO

The fundamental Strength of our not-for-profit Rubin Dialysis Center is our people, our dedicated clinical and support services professionals that give direct patient care or provide the supportive services needed by the patients and their family dealing with chronic kidney failure. Our continued focus on low staff to patient ratios, the quality goals we pursue, seeking innovations in treatment therapies, and the continuing learning opportunities for our staff - these all continue to create a culture that our Board of Directors, our physicians and hospital "partners", and our staff and patients feel puts "people first".

Our latest Home Therapy Options Team news:

The Home Therapy Options Team has trained over 26 patients on the NxStage 'short-daily' home machine and is finding many others are interested in this 70 lb, portable, easy-to-operate home dialysis system. With an approximate 2 week training time with the patient and a supportive partner, the NxStage is being adapted by our staff to even operate on a nocturnal basis, giving NxStage a broader application for different patient therapy choices and schedules.

Our active Peritoneal Dialysis program is managing and supporting patients who want to be more mobile, have fewer diet and fluid restrictions, and perform their home treatments on their own schedule. Our 24/7 support for our patients makes Home dialysis therapies a growing and exciting choice for patients in our system.

I do note that charitable contributions allow us to provide extra services to our patients, maintain state-of-the-art equipment and facilities, and keep the best staff possible in a competitive healthcare market. "Providing Dialysis with Dignity" is our way of giving care to people needing it, not just a slogan. Many thanks to all who assisted these efforts last year and we look forward to your support of our not-for-profit Mission as we go forward!
